Summary: In exchange for their Commitment and Service, Joshua kept Moses and God's promise by giving the Reubenites, Gadites, and half the Tribe of Manasseh land to the east of the Jordan near Gilead. Presumption and judgment have dangerous consequences, sometimes Civil War. The Reubenites, Gadites, and half the Tribe of Manasseh built a memorial that was presumed to be an altar to other gods by the other 10 Tribes of Israel. This almost led to Civil War. Summary/ Application: Joshua and the Israelites' journey was needed to restore the world and fulfill God's promise to Abraham. Joshua ends with a new beginning in the Promised Land. Unfortunately, the Israelites messed it up and did not honor their affirmation in response to Joshua's emphatic statement, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Since Israel continued to fall short of God's law and allowed corruption (amongst other sins) to come into the Promised Land, a savior was needed. On Easter Sunday, we celebrate the Resurrection of the Savior, Our Lord, Jesus Christ. Our choice is to follow Him by taking the road less traveled. As we follow Him, Obedience is key to our spiritual growth.

Charles says the Old Testament tells us to expect the Messiah, who was anointed for a specific task. Charles mentions several people from the Old Testament and shows a map of the holy land including current photographs. What were three ancient civilizations in the area? How important was water to the story? Why did God place the children of Israel (and Jesus) where he did? Next, Old Testament patriarchs, Abraham, Issac and Jacob. Next a review of Genesis, using drawings and Illustrations. Next, an illustrated history from Exodus. Next, drawings and current photographs related to Judges. Next, Samuel. Charles says every time there is trouble, God sends a hero.
